Great furball story, madman!

siozie, my guy also escaped and went directly to the Bay Area, did not
pass Go, except for a brief stint in the Air Force. As far as the high
school he went to, do you mean that there's another one besides R.J.
Reynolds? %^) He went there, and his brothers and sisters, and also his
father and aunts and uncles. He's descended from the Moravian folks who
founded the town(s), back in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Linda - Holy cow! Old time family :) that's really cool! So, he went
to my rival high school, then -- I went to Mount Tabor, graduated in
1993. My mom is still teaching AP English in the school system there,
says things haven't changed much.

It was an interesting place to grow up, for sure. I go back now, and
even in the last 10 years, there have been a lot of changes, new
housing and shopping developments.

By the way, last night I dreamed that Neil was telling a story. I wish I had
posted earlier because I remembered more details then. But he went for a
while and then one of the characters started telling his own story. (Very
Neil, eh?) At that point, I entered this inner story and dreamed it until I
woke up.
I guess I'm looking forward to tomorrow more than I realized.

Well just if that someone else is wealthy.
Rocky, I can't take a personal day, don't have any left with the
Bratchilde getting into a car accident, and getting my vacation time
for Sept. killed any favors I could have pulled and as for a sick day,
well we work on a points system and out of the 8 you can get I have
gotten 6.5,.....and none fall off til after Aug.
Not to mention I am totally broke after paying for the said vacation.
Like rolling pennies for gas broke.
Well, now I have to roll pennies, cause I bought my first DVD.

Madman, if you have a cell phone, could you please e-mail me the number?

siozie, we go back about every five years for his dad's major birthday
milestones, and it changes a lot every time. I keep telling people about
the coffee pot, but nobody believes me!

Everyone who is going to the reading tonight, have a magnificent time,
and walk proudly and smugly at the thought of how jealous of you the
rest of us are.

Neil, where do you get such dreams? My dream last night was about
having to stand in line to buy stamps at the post office. I can't
convey to you adequately the horror that is my post office. It was just
a harrowing nightmare. Have a wonderful reading.

Fun fun fun!
Ok, for those at the reading who don't know me, I'm the tall redhead
with the shades and the long sleeved black t-shirt with a big tibetan
looking starfish thing on the front.

And I'm the short, fat, dark-haired woman with the black and tan flowered
pants and the black tunic top and guitar pick earrings who will probably
be talking to the tall red-haired fellow with the starfish.

I'll be the blue haired chick with the "Scary Trousers" shirt :)
accompanied by a friend and my sister.

Who else will be there, with their shirt? Am I going to be the only
one? :D

Linda - Wow, I had forgotten about the coffee pot!! Heh!

Haha! Got back first!
Coraline was wonderful. Truly great fun and a great story, both terrible
and funny. Thank you, Neil. And thank you, Dan and Linda, for managing to
get there early enough to get good seats, for I did not. I took a few
pictures (I hope you don't mind, Neil) and we'll see if they come out.
They were the start a new roll so it may be a while.

What a wonderful evening. I saw lots of people I haven't seen in a
while (that means you Madman, Martha and Squeaks), got masterfully read
to by Neil, and got a celebrity sighting to boot! Of course, now I'm
wishing I had brought a copy of my headshot for Henry Selick... *sigh*
I'm probably not even spelling his name right, actually... ah well.

As should have been expected, the reading ended waaay too late for
folks to swing by for snacks and drinks at my place. That's ok, though.
The future will provide lots of opportunities.

Anyway, thanks again, Neil, for a wonderful evening and another
wonderful story.

You guys beat me to it!

What a wonderful treat. Terrific story, terrifically read. Just imagine:
nearly five hours sitting in the same room with Neil, as one of his
wonderfully creepy and charming stories unfolds, hearing it told live, in
his own voice.

squeaks provided the perfect set decoration - I'll let her tell you about
that.

It was wonderful to see madman, stagewalker, squeaks, and jroe again, and
to meet gorey, dreaming, and siozie for the first time.

E-mail from Christy Smith:

All,

Thanks for the welcomes, and the great advice! I appreciate your being
the first person to offer a suggestion, Neil, and Will, your detailed
chronology was especially helpful. (I hope you get to go!) I just spoke
with my brother today and hinted at a very early start, and I don't think
he's going to mind at all. :) So Rocky, I just may see you with the
early crew!

Mary,

Holy crap, what an upsetting month! How are you holding up? I think the
local memorial service sounds like a good idea, too.

Well, even though it's three hours earlier over there, I very much doubt
that this will be seen before tonight's reading. All the same, let me
wish everyone a wonderful night and safe travels. Neil, have a great
time, don't wear out your voice too soon, and please give Maddy a squeeze
for me. I'm sure she'll have a lot of fun tonight! Everyone else there,
enjoy -- and give the rest of us details when you get back! :^d <drool>

All the Best,
Christy

"Selick" is what the imdb says. I spent quite a while talking to his wife,
who's very nice.

Thank goodness the pews were padded. Thank goodness the reading was
compelling or it wouldn't have helped that the pews were padded. But then,
I worked out all the cramps when Maddie led me on a chase all around the
church for about 20 minutes. (She made me tell her the secret, after, of
how I always snuck up on her when she went into the green room, and she knew
I hadn't followed her.)

And I got a ridiculously over-the-top ride home, too.

Nice to see Neil for once not looking tired. And the reading was worth a
thousand unpadded pews.

maure - (687) Le Nozze de Figaro (however you spell it). Last time we
saw Madama Butterfly. This time we actually got to hear my friend sing,
as she actually was part of a duet instead of one of a half dozen in a
choir.

rocky - (700) Yep. Jesus Jones is still rockin'. Show was a blast. And
I swear Mike Edwards does not age. And the only song I really wanted
to hear that they didn't play was 'Song 13', which I didn't really
expect to hear, being on their first album and all...

mary - <<<hug>>>

madman - kitties rule.

geez, I guess that means I'm the last back from the reading? Um, it
was awesome. Linda, glad you made it! And Kurt virtually waves hello to
anyone he didn't get a chance to wave hello to at the reading. It was
good to see Martha again, however briefly. Oh, and the set decoration
referenced is a doll I made to sit on the stage with Neil. She's got
buttons for eyes and her name is Gretchen. :)

squeaks, who found it odd to be in the audience at that venue, as
usually she's on stage there...

Head.
