Woo-hoo! Congratulations, Mousey and Kurt! We will be waiting for
pictures!! :D (And heehee, I knew it would be mentioned in the
Journal.

(And of _course_ Neil was dehydrated; all that flying, probably while
drinking alcohol? <g> Glad to hear you got a clean bill of health,
Neil. I wish it were so with all my favorites. And it was so good to
see you.)

Mary -
<I gave Neil wind-up sushi
once. When I saw it in the store, it seemed....necessary that he
should have it.>

Exactly how I felt when I saw sushi candles in a catalog some years
ago! :D I think that was my first birthday present to him.

Mimi Ko was at Balticon??

Dangit, I would have liked to meet her!

All this and JaNell Golden, too!

Take Care,

I actually bumped into Mimi while she was getting a pizza. When I
gave a vague look of familiarity she said, "the well".

I felt very slow.

Well, then, next time, you gotta introduce me! :)

Hmm, now that I think of it, I guess I _had_ heard that Wispa bars had
been discontinued
(http://www.neilgaiman.com/journal/2006/06/in-wee-small-hours-of-morning.html).
But I forgot, so I got to be disappointed twice. :(

Boy, we don't do "carrying on without [Neil]" so well anymore, do we?
Well, here's something, if not really a seed:

Got most of my Balticon photos back. You can view them here:
http://www.mysticcolorlab.com/share/p=585161150466930992/l=104411190/g=6778443
/cobrandOid=1005/otsc=SYE/otsi=SALB

You need to log in, but I think http://bugmenot.com can help you out
if you don't want to register.

I'll be adding more when I get the rest back, and updating some of the
captions when I get my Balticon brochure back. Also, being somewhat
of a protective big-sistery privacy hog, I probably won't keep the ones
with the kids up there for long, so if you want to see much of
Lorraine a'Malena, check those shots out while you can.

Have a good weekend!

Christy

Happy 21st Birthday to Holly Gaiman!!! :D

I knew it was sometime around here.
...

Anyone gotten their _Eternals_ yet? I would, but this week in DC, I'm
afraid it would get very soggy. I did just receive my five-dollar
"Nasty Blobs..." book today, though! (Looks again) Oh, wait, that's
"Noisy Outlaws, Unfriendly Blobs...."

Kind of fitting that I'd get it today, considering that Neil's story
in it was written as a birthday present for Holly.

*Loved* Eternals, particularly the PSAs. Only Neil.

Yes, Nasty Blobs book is lovely, too. Too many books....plenty of
time! I *love* summer vacation! Am seeing Ray Davies, Mike Doughty,
Train, India.Arie, Macy Gray, and various and sundry other folks for
free over the next week. It may not be Milwaukee, but Taste of Chicago
is pretty faboo. And did I mention free?

My landlady is getting Internet next week, and if I am successful in
connecting it, I'll post more. Now I'm off to see Christy's photos
(thanks, Christy!) and get my first ever manicure and pedicure. TTFN!

Mary -- Cool! I just got my first manicure in January.

Got (and read) my Eternals #1 on Friday. Of course, I'm finding myself playing
"spot the god" again, just as I did reading _American Gods_ -- only this time I
actually have a shot at recognizing more of them, because Neil is finally doing
more from the Greek/Roman pantheon. Clever names, too (although I realize Jack
Kirby probably used them first).

_Unfriendly Blobs_ is fun. I just got to "Sunbird," but I'm not going to read it
just yet. I'm having a lousy couple of weeks, and why waste a good story on a bad
mood?

I saw something last week that reminded me of an Inkwell discussion from about
three years ago. It may have been the book about spammers, but somewhere in there
we got pointed to one of those sites where a scammer was being strung along by
someone pretending to be a victim.

Well, a pianist I've worked with just sent out a link to her daughter's new book
on this pastime: http://www.cbsd.com/inventory.aspx?id=19860. Looks
entertaining. >;-)

Hey all... just checking in to say hello between feedings. Not much
going on other than the usual baby madness. For the curious, Allistair
has a LiveJournal account:

The photo links will hopefully be operational again by tomorrow or
Thursday.

And that's pretty much it for me these days. =)

Christy - Kirby used a lot of well-known names for the original
Eternals, so Neil is just playing in his sandbox.

little weensy one. Congratulations again!

I've decided I don't have to buy "Where's Neil When You Need Him?"
when it arrives in stores tomorrow.

I will show patience.

I will buy it Wednesday.

On my first listen to the album I ask the obvious question:

Why don't "The Endless" have a track on it?

Cruxshadows are always hit or miss with me. The stuff I like, I
*really* like, the rest is just kind of "meh". The band is nice though.
Silly, and nice, just the way us spooks should be. Rasputina good. Get
more Rasputina. Now. Not sure about Tapping the Vein.

And I'm in agreement that the Endless should have been on it. But
otherwise I'm happy with it. Mind you, I've only heard it once (it's
not my copy) and still have to buy one for myself so I can listen to it
over and over again. :D

And as a random curiosity, who here is planning on getting the
Complete Sandman when it's out in November? Normally I'd pick it up in
a heartbeat, but with space running low around here, and finances a bit
pinched, I'm leaning toward no on getting it for myself (and I doubt
anyone wants to spend several hundred on me so I can have the whole
set). I'm feeling bad about it, but, well, priorities.

Does anyone else think ThouShaltNot sounds like A-Ha?

I am playing on getting the Complete Sandman. All of my current
Graphic Novels have been lent multiple times and are starting to show
wear and tear.
