Flatten pointed end of skewer with a hammer and drill a hole to accommodate a split ring. Remove the split ring and load with whole or chunk fruits, then re-insert the ring and mount the kabob. Easy to clean and disinfect.
Pteropus rodricensis (Rodriguez's Fruit Bat) has been observed to fly to fruit kabobs if a single large food item is in place on the bottom of the skewer
