How to Use the Sony Digital Camera MVC-FD51
Take a Picture
-
On the back of the camera where the screen is, move the Open
switch on the left to open the disk drive.
-
Insert a blank disk into the camera and close the lid of
the drive.
-
Move the Power switch on the back of the camera on the right
to On.
-
After a moment, the screen will start showing the images
the camera is looking at.
-
If you are taking a picture inside, press the Flash button
to turn on the flash.
-
When you have the image you want, press the button on the
front of the camera near the top to take a picture.
-
Take up to 40 pictures on one disk. If you cannot take
more than ten, see the Technology Resource Teacher to change the setting
on the camera.
Review the Pictures You Took
-
To review the pictures you have taken, you can flip the switch
on the back of the camera into Play mode. Then use the arrows on
the black circle to move through the pictures.
-
Flip the switch back into Camera mode to continue taking
pictures.
Put the Pictures on the Computer and Print
-
When you have finished taking pictures, turn the Power switch
to off.
-
Open the disk drive and press the thin black button on the
right to eject the disk.
-
Put the disk into a computer. Double-click on My Computer
and double-click on 3 1/2 Floppy(A).
-
Double click on the photo files to open them.
-
They should open in Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator
or the Imaging tool. All of those are useful for viewing the photo.
-
If you need to make changes to the photo before printing,
see the Technology Resource Teacher to use a computer in the lab with a
program like Photoshop. You can try and open the images in Paint
by opening Paint first and then opening the images, but the quality is
not very good.
Check and Recharge the Battery
-
If you are using the camera for a while, look at the battery
indicator on the lower right of the screen. It will tell you how
many minutes of power you have left.
-
You should recharge the camera frequently. The recharger
is in the camera box in the lab. Plug it into a socket.
-
On the bottom of the camera, move the Open (BATT) switch
and open the battery cover by pushing it out and then up.
-
Remove the battery and slip it into the charger. Leave
it in overnight.
