The gentleman on the right is Roger Mahony, who is now a cardinal but was merely an archibishop when this photo is taken. (He's still technically an archibishop, I guess; his title is Archibishop of Los Angeles.) Note the very large hat they let him wear. I'm pretty sure this photo was taken around 1991, at a seminary near Camarillo, Calif. |
