The rocket sailed across the pond to the hill where Helen was standing -- and landed precisely at her feet. It looked like the rocket she had given him, but it was clear that Dr. Trockelheim had made some improvements in its guidance system. She picked it up and saw that additionally it carried a clear plastic message container, inside of which was a paper scroll with writing on it.

Helen looked across the pond at the Midas Moon. The platform was empty. Trockelheim was gone.
