One door led to a bunkroom furnished with six sturdy cots, many piles of blankets, a substantial bureau, assorted ancient chairs, and a stack of tattered technical journals.

Another door was labeled with a small brass plaque that said "Computer Room". Inside, was a long table on which were set six old computers, probably discarded from the lab. Most of the machines she had never seen before, but among them, she was surprised to see an IBM AT -- a similar machine to the one she had found on an upper floor of the dormitory.

Helen pressed the power switch; the screen lit up.
