Harder and harder to get out of bed in the morning.
Lay there thinking about Sid's world where art is central and so am I.
So few like him who truly care about artists as individuals with unusual
vision.
He told me once: "Your work allows the viewer to look at the world
through your eyes. That bestowed vicarious 'second sight' is at the
essence of the old and regretfully discredited terminology -- 'beauty',
'beautiful'."
Sid never cared about whether the work of any of the artists in his
stable was saleable.
Never cared about what I could do for him. Believed in me as an artist.
Perhaps that is why I am always running from him.
