Well it sounds like a normal thing to do now, going back to school.
But back then it wasn't for a women. You stopped working when you got
married.
The way the clock turned back after the war, and women went right along
with it was incredible. Hard to understand now.
But the security of being a sheltered wife was not without its appeal in
1946.
At the hardware store, I bought a rubber flapper. Thing that stops up
the hole in the toilet tank. Installed it. Also repainted the area
between the sink and the toilet where the paint was chipped.
