During the War, there was an anti-aircraft installation on the top of a Hill.
To protect the Carquinez Straits from a Japanese attack which
everyone believed was what would happen. I thought I could find it, but when I
got there a few years ago, everything looked different.
All those years in the Bay area, and I had never gone back to look for it
or to look for the house we had lived in. When I finally went a few years
ago I couldn't find them.
That is what the drawing is about. It is a drawing of something you
can't see, of a place that is vaguely familiar but all the bearings are
changed and you are in a kind of maze as you search for
something only half remembered and are not sure that you want to find it.
