Now that the painting is finished, I feel like cleaning house.
Louise Nevelson once told an interviewer: "I'm seventy-six. I will get
on my knees and wipe up a floor or the stairs...for me, it is just not
cleaning. When I do have a cleaning woman or man. they do it to make the
house clean. I do it for a higher order."
For me house cleaning is part of the ritual of a finished work. I don't
clean for a higher order.
