Tina and Jerry pulled into the driveway mid morning the day after
Thanksgiving. They'd called, and I was expecting them. Apple doughnuts
and the Peet's coffee Tiara had brought me from Berkeley were ready.
Had dusted off Grandmother's china coffee set. On the sugar bowl,
there are dragons with human looking heads and fish with curly tails.
A nude man dances on the creamer. On the coffee pot, a man and the woman dance together, flanked by
cupids and by a nude woman with a beautiful wings.
The coffee set had belonged to my Mother's Mother.
Father's mother whom we called Grannie would never have had such a thing
in her house.
