If I had been a different kind of painter, I would have painted views
of San Francisco Bay. The paintings huge. The potent views
set like jewels amid the steep streets and the chains of
colorful houses and apartments.
In the 70's Wayne Thiebaud painted a series of San Francisco streets.
Wonderful works. Focusing on the streets themselves. Seemingly climbing
to the skies.
I would have focused on the dark blue water of the Bay.
