The kitchen, where Cory was stationed, was pervaded with the aroma of a fresh-from-the-oven blueberry pie. "Your choice, Cory told Caydance, "is to eat blueberry pie on our deck where it is peaceful and isolated. Or we can pack up the pie, plates, and napkins and drive to Goat Rock Beach, in Jenner, where the Russian River meets the Pacific Ocean. The scenery is spectacular, but we do not know how many people will be there on an August afternoon.
