Griff greeted his Dad, slid next to Caydance in the booth, put his hands on the silky gray sweater she was wearing; kissed her on the check, produced a postcard from an envelope which he was carrying. On the front was a growling husky dog superimposed on a stadium. In the sky was written the words "Go Huskies".

On the back was a handwritten, signed note from Coach James. "See you on the other side of the field ".

A waiter arrived at their table. "Comfort food is desired," Claude stated. One by one, he called out items from the menu, pausing at each item to ask if we had an objection: "won ton soup" fried won tons; egg rolls; sliced beef, pork, chicken, and shrimp sauteed with water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, pea pods and other vegetables; Mongolian beef; Sesame Chicken; hot and sour shrimp; white rice; tea. We had no objections, but Griff added a round of Tsingtao beer.

"Your Mother is very happy that you are coaching," Claude commented to his son. "She has moved to Calgary. If you would like another surprise, ask me where the Math conference is held this year."
