Alberta Dinner was almost ready to serve. By now Caydance knew that because of years anticipating the moves of the person who held the ball, there was no need to tell Griff that the final preperations for dinner were under way, and it was time to set the table.

"I should tell you", he continued -- setting the table and uncorking a bottle of now chilled Grgich Hills Chardonnay, which had appeared magically from his briefcase (wedged in with law books and a tour guide to Calgary) -- "that Dad has dropped more than a few hints about how beautiful the snow-capped Canadian Rockies will be in December; there is a view to the mountains from the spare bedroom in his cottage; there is a skating pond nearby, and wouldn't you and I like to spend some holiday time in snow country?"
