Now I was immersed
in the lives of the Society of Six.
How Seldon Conner Gile
journeyed from Maine to California.
Rode and drank with Jack London.
Lived and painted in the Oakland hills.
Was joined by a young painter,
August Gay, born in the mountains of Southeast France.
And then came Louis Siegriest, Maurice Logan,
William Clapp from Montreal,
and Bernard Von Eichman.
