Or, No, It Doesn't Have to Be a Big Deal

We didn't want to do anything that didn't feel like us, so we invited a bunch of people over for a barbeque at Kate's parents' cabin by a lake in northern Wisconsin.

The Wedding Ceremony

It was very brief--Matt's brother Skip (sscruby@aol.com) read a piece of an appropriate essay by Robert Louis Stevenson, and then we had a lawyer lead us through a pared-down civil ceremony.

Because we had trouble finding sources of basic ceremonies and readings that didn't make us queasy, here are texts of what worked for us.

The Barbeque/Reception

Afterwards, we'd asked Bill Braasch (bbraasch@well.com) to get one piece of advice, on any useful topic, from each guest. He assembled them into a document, which he read after we passed out the cake.

And, of course, a photo of us !!
