Notes for Sophie Stoliar
After the Kishinev pogrom, the whole Stoliar family moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1906. There Sophie married Misha Mirmovich. After the birth of their daughter Emma,
Sophie and Misha separated; final separation was in 1925.Sophie came to New York in February 1918 on the S.S. Vauban and went through Ellis Island. Sophie and her daughter Emma lived in many different parts of New York and were big supporters of the Yiddish theater.
In 1954 she moved with her daughter Emma and Emma's family to live in Detroit,
and in 1958 lived with them in Torrance, California. She died of a heart attack.
