Almond Crescents

(from The Joy of Cooking)

Makes about 5 dozen. Make an extra batch. They go fast!

3/4 c confectioner's sugar

Add the sugar gradually and cream with
1 c butter

2 tsp vanilla
1 c ground blanched almonds

Knead in by hand until completely mixed:
2-1/2 c sifted all purpose flour

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Chill the dough and roll it to the thickness of 1/4 inch. Cut or form into crescent shapes. Bake the cakes on greased cookie sheet in a preheated 350°F oven, about 15 minutes.

When baked, dip them in:
confectioner's sugar or vanilla sugar
