We often talk of moving to Oregon when we retire, and we decided to have a look at the high desert there during the coldest time of year. We booked a little cottage in Bend for a few nights and headed north. We drove halfway to Oregon on the first day of our trip, spending the night in a little town called Dunsmuir.
