There are two main hot springs resorts for tourists: Baldi and Tabacon. Both were fairly uncrowded when we visited -- again, it was the low season. Both are fabulous, and each has its own atmosphere. Baldi is like Las Vegas. There's a heliport pad in the middle of the grounds, for heaven's sake! The pools are large and the surroundings flashy, inviting a party mood and reminding you that you're frolicking in a luxurious, man-made, aquatic playpen.
Tabacon, though Disneyesque in its pristine perfection, gives visitors the feeling of being in nature. The man-made pools are mostly small, intimate, understated, and surrounded by dense jungle vegetation.

This Baldi pool has tile-covered concrete lounging chairs built in the
water. Some are deep enough that you can immerse all but your shoulders
and head; others are so shallow only the backs of your legs rest in the
water.
