| The frogs Costa Rica is famous for -- the big-eyed, brightly colored poisonous ones -- are all surprisingly tiny, the size of nickels, dimes even. Also, they're nocturnal. This makes them difficult to find, let alone photograph. Here's a big bruiser of a frog, the size of two fists. |
| This frog was small -- the size of a quarter. It showed up on our deck every night, and every night I'd shoo it back to the grassy slopes below the house. |
