Some neighborhoods still have metal rings embedded in their curbs; Portlanders used to hitch their horses to the rings. Now, as part of an art project launched by a local artist, residents are encouraged to tether toy horses there instead.


Another local art project involves near life-size sculptures of pigs that mysteriously change locations around town at irregular intervals.
