The California Historical Radio Society celebrates the official lease-signing and ribbon-cutting for the KRE building at the south end of Aquatic Park. Built in 1937, the building and transmitter tower are now owned by Inner City Broadcasting (KBLX), the last independently owned radio station in the Bay Area. CHRS will move its offices, museum and library to the historic structure. The society plans to restore the studios and control room, as well as the building's exterior, to their 1939 appearance. previous photo - - - - - - - - - - - - next photo |
