The Women of Southern Songbirds - The Girls of the Golden West
The Women of Southern Songbirds
The Girls of the Golden West:
Muleshoe, Texas was the adopted home
town of Dolly and Millie Good in 1934 when they joined the WLS
Barndance in Chicago, as two of the youngest cowgirl performers.
The two sisters made their first records for the Bluebird label
when in their teens, and were an instant hit with their dreamy two
part harmonies and yodelling antics. This program includes
interviews with the surviving sister, Millie, just a few years
before her passing.
