Hallway

This little niche is in the hallway between the entryway and the family room. It is the first instance of the beautiful slate tile used in other parts of the house, and a lovely little art area. The current owners have a fountain there that you can hear tinkling as you walk in (does this look familiar, Wilson?)
Tim and I aren't sure we're ready to fountain-hunt yet, as much as we love the sound of the running water. However, when we were at the Colorado Renaissance Festival this past weekend for Morris performances, we ran into something we thought would be perfect for this space -- a fish sculpture! Since there are so many unique metal fixtures throughout the house, we thought this would carry through beautifully. And, after all, how could we resist? They're FISH!

We picked this one out as a companion hanging sculpture. We're not exactly sure where we'll put it yet, but there are blank walls around this niche that might work, or perhaps one of the stairway walls. We'll figure it out when we get in there. For now, we just felt that this was a really nice pairing. How exciting to be able to buy art with the new house in mind. No more "Well, I love it, but will it go with the house we eventually buy?" Yay!
