My Friend, Darlene.

Darlene doesn't like to talk much about herself (she thinks she's biased) so she sent me some evaluations of herself from those who would know best, her teachers.

1st Grade

Darlene is cooperative and well-mannered, and participates well in classroom activities.

2nd Grade

Darlene is doing especially well in the cursive writing lessons.

Later that year...
Speed seems to be more important than quality to Darlene. Her seatwork is careless.

3rd Grade

Darlene is a very capable girl. Just lately, her work has been slipping to some degree. She is trying to improve it, but I have to be careful not to make her feel pressured in the classroom. I'll see you Monday at 3:10.

Later that year...
Darlene's work has improved since our conference. Her work in the cafeteria seemed to boost her morale. Please feel free to call for a conference any time.

4th Grade

Darlene continues to do quality work. Her biography and language notebooks are very well done. She has tended to visit during class time but a new seating arrangement should take care of the situation.

5th Grade

Darlene is having a very successful year academically. I do hope she will develop some new friendships in the class.

6th Grade

Darlene is a capable student. She has done well. Darlene should feel confident in herself and strive to be more independent and outgoing. She is a good reader and is very artistic. Good luck in 7th Grade, Darlene! (DW's note: 7th Grade, the beginning of Living Hell.)
