Sorry to burst your bubble but this song was also recorded by Savoy Brown at
least 10 years before the Dead did it.

I don't get it, DG, maybe my bubble needs to be inflated. Surely  just
about every GD cover tune was recorded by somebody else first.

Maybe the writer thinks we think all these tunes are penned by GD
members. Although the writers are listed on the first post with the
lyrics. Or maybe they think we think that GD were responsible for the
revival of the covers. I will probably be able to sleep OK no matter

Bubbles have an uncanny eventual bursting ability. 

I've never heard the dead do this, but the words are right on the a
stomp rompin' show. (Quite a curve ball they'd delightfully throw!)
Imagining all those characters straying down to the venue leads to
quite interesting mental scenes.
  

    
there are two sets of lyrics, btw. i think there were a set of blue
lyrics that later got changed. perhaps blair covered this in golden
road? what sticks in mind is something along the lines of "tell Bitch
and I've told ol' Annie" instead of "tell butcher-knife totin' Annie"
