Neil - I've always assumed that Lorraine or your wife or somebody had
a note pinned inside your jacket that said, "My name is Neil Gaiman,
and I live at... with address & phone number & who to contact in case
you're lost. ; D

Linda - will you not be in town in October?

Michelle - so far the spookiest thing about you that I've "seen" is
the face that your first name is one letter off from my ex-wife's.
Fortunately, I've had other Michelle's in my life recently who have
helped redeem the name in my mind so I no longer jump when I hear it.

Adriana - that's wonderful!! I highly recommend finding an independent
filmmaker who wants to do it and is willing to work with you as a
creative partner and actually do the story you are writing.

Neil - your self-stalking quote just became my new e-mail sig. I keep
laughing out loud at work while reading all you guys!

Neil: I’m a relative newbie, here, so I don’t know the precedent. But
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate that you’re still here.
Your work ethic is almost frightening. I was sure you’d take at least
a week, maybe a few, off after that, er, Endless tour and try to forget
that the Barking Mad hordes existed at all. But no, there you were,
right back at it, in spades. And still here. Anyway, thanks from the
little people.

DanGuy: I love Xander’s room! Major kudos to your wife. We're
mustering the financial fortitude to buy a house, and one of the
decorating plans I have is to try to finagle a barter with one of the
Disney scenic artists my husband works with to do a Tree of Life thing
on the living room wall.

Martha, re: painting HH children’s rooms--How wonderful of her! On a
similar note, there was a major PR coup in the war between Disney and
Warner Bros. a few years ago. Some lovely person volunteered to paint
a daycare center and created a mural of Disney characters. One of the
dyspeptic sorts in Disney legal somehow got wind of it and ordered the
center to remove the art. WB heard about it and sent over scenic
painters from the studio, free of charge and with generous media
coverage, to paint WB characters over top of them. (There is a
moral-of-the-story in there somewhere.)

Rebecca: Redecorate the whole house? Aren’t you moving to a new one
soon?

Michaela: Have a fabulous time in England—again!

Miss Mousey: Thanks for the BM input. I think I’m really going to
try to make it next year, all things being possible. Re: Wanda.
Should we send a group Thingie email to PNH to get to the bottom of
this? Inquiring minds want the dirt.

DanW: Did I miss the show dates somewhere back there? Do you have
them yet?

Adriana: Is it the Man, the Myth or the website that has inspired so
many literal and creative births lately? CONGRATULATIONS! Keep us,
er, posted on your progress. I would love to come see you do this
role!

JaNell/Adriana: I tried to write something of quality here about the
elemental quality of creativity--hunger, nakedness, whatever--but
failed entirely. I just wanted to say how much I admire you both.

-Pam, who is feeling utterly uncreative, unclever and irrelevant this
week.

Squeaks - welcome back! Thanks for the BM stuff; the Other and I
really aren't too concerned,... I believe he laughingly put our
survival rate (relationship-wise) at 70%, thinking that was sky high
positive. I have no idea how you can miss a Starbucks, but then again
every time I turn around I'm tripping over one of them, Tullys, or
Seattles Best. (Grr!) Altho I've noticed one trend: if I want a
Starbucks, I can only find Tullys. If I want Tullys, only Seattles
Best. (I never want Seattles Best, so I have no idea what would pop up
if I did. I've tried wanting Seattles Best, reasoning that Starbucks
should magically appear, but alas the coffee deities are aware of such
internal scheming and foil my plans as I go...)

Anyhow - I do look forward to meeting you and the others at BM. I buy
the rest of my prep stuff next week, and then it'll only be one week to
leaving... wooo! (I shudder at the number of posts there will be here
when I get back...!)

Dan - hee hee ... the self stalking quote just found its way into my
SeaGoth signature... (and I had just changed it yesterday to a very
cool Beborn Beton quote. Oh well...)

I saw the Cowboy Junkies on Tuesday night; they played Benaroya Hall
here, which is generally used for the symphony, and is just excellent
for sound quality. They were, as always, absolutely amazing to watch
perform, and Margo came to chat with the crowd afterwords. She signed
some things for me, too. :-) ... anyhow, regarding creativity, I've
found my muse often visits me while I listen to music. (I write poetry,
mostly, which causes many people to sneer but oh well... one day I
might even be brave enough to share with others - many kudos to those
who can subject any of their work to criticism by others.) Cowboy
Junkies tend to be one of my main inspirational groups, and so of
course I go to the Hall, I see the concert, ideas start blooming in my
head... and I discover I left my pen at home. Sigh. :-(

Oh... yes. My pen. An odd Kelly-ism. It's not unusual to find my
writing on my hand, palm, and arm until my left side is covered in
scribblings. I find it's easier to use my skin as paper than to try to
keep track of paper - the chances of my misplacing a limb is relatively
remote, whereas paper is almost guranteed to darwinize and leave me at
the soonest opportunity.

Oops! Time for me to head out; I'm off to find a goth-inspired Red
Queen costume for a Wonderland themed party on Saturday night. :-)

-Kelly

Pamela - thanks. My life needs less naked and more nekkid, though. ; >
Or maybe you have to get naked before you can get nekkid? Hmmm.

Kelly - I saw the Cowboy Junkies at Riverbend several years ago in
Chattanooga. Love their stuff, especially "Misguided Angel".
There was a little cafe called the The Scarlet Tanager by the river
right north of downtown that had open mic night once a week and two of
the performers almost always covered that song in a way that would
break your heart... or at least mine.

an Alanis or MB20 show, though, so *that's* all right.

Tara- I got the book (well, my parents got the book, and I'll be
traveling down there soon; long story, mainly about the lack of
anything resembling reliability from the Jersey City PO)! Thanks so
much; can't wait. It'll be at the top of the stack of Books to Read

book and pick up three others. Is there an exponential law for this,

Maybe it's an all purpose word for being funny.

Reminds me of that street parody of a song popular during Rudy
Valentino's time:
_The Sheik of Araby_
* designates the retort to the song*

"I'm the Sheik of Araby..."
*wit' no pants on!*
"At night into your tent I'll creep..."
*wit' no pants on!*

and so on. Like you do during "Mony, Mony".

I saw "Hamlet: The Musical" tonight. It's hilarious! Alexandra
Billingsley, one of my favorite divas of all time, plays Gertrude
(who's hot for Hamlet), and she stole the show, as per usual. If any

DanW - I think I've found a couple new .sigs in this batch of posts.

Neil - I know where I live. Does that mean I'm stalking myself?

Kelly - I found a Starbucks! It's 4 blocks away and small and

Heh Dan... and they had just been in San Fran a few nights before the
show up here. You can get on their mailing list via the web site
(www.cowboyjunkies.com) - Margo will mail when they'll be in town, or
when new material is released, or anything else of interest.

JaNell... I have a Misguided Angel bracelet now, courtesy of Margo.
It's very cool. :-)

Squeaks - a hiding Starbucks? Maybe they're afraid of anarchists, or
something... the Junkies are, btw, well worth seeing.

And on that note, so is Stevie Nicks. Saw her last night at Key Arena
- oh my! A great mix of Fleetwood Mac songs, old songs, new songs.
She's gorgeous and charismatic, to boot... and it was so gratifying to
- well, back up. You need more data.

We were walking thru admissions, waiting to hand over our tickets,
when we noticed an extremely well dressed man and woman ahead of us. He
was in a tux, she was in formal evening wear. Perhaps most noticable
was their age - easily into their late 70s or 80s - not what you would
expect for a Stevie Nicks show. As he is entering the auditorium, he
tells the woman taking his ticket that Stevie Nicks is his neice. The
woman nods politely, takes his ticket, and waits for him to leave. The
person right in front of us then shares a laugh with the woman taking
the ticket, both making comments indicating they think the old man was
quite insane, but no harm in humouring him.

Towards the end of the show, Stevie is telling everyone how much she
enjoys performing, and that tonight is special for her... because her
uncle and aunt, who she hasn't seen in so long, are somewhere in the
audience... she then goes on to talk to them for a few minutes before
continuing the show.

I hope the people who doubted this old man, who was so proud of his
neice, felt properly shamed for not believing him. :-)

And somewhat more on topic, Terry Gilliams comments on Good Omens are
properly frightening - can't wait to see the end result! ;-)

-Kelly
