Arbitrary Placement of Walls. 

"Well, the other night I was actually out (with friends! Yay!) walking
in the local Shakespeare park.  For some reason, perhaps to make it
look authentically English, there was a wall in the middle of a field. 
Just a lone wall, like the remnants of a plantation house or
something, but I know for a fact it's not more than a year old.  So we
start joking about the gratuitous wall, what's it there for, yadda
yadda.  Then I blurt out "Arbitrary placement of walls!" and burst out
laughing.  Then I have to explain to my friends, that no, it's just the
title of a book I've heard a lot about, it's only funny in my own

I stupidly went to work today in my current state, and made things
much worse.  Calling off tomorrow.

mean its over?  I just closed my eyes, you fooollll!"

Angelina - well, if one was infected, then I'll send even more heal-well-
wishes, and also offer a reminder that besides taking the antibiotics all
the way to the end of the prescription, it's important to drink enough water
and to take whatever vitamins are appropriate (as long as they don
't conflict with any other med, of course), particularly if it hurts to eat
and you're not getting that good ol' healthy robust infection-stompin'
properly balanced nutrition. (Feel free to thwap me if I'm overstepping
bounds with this unsolicited advice, but having been one of the Or Else
group, I feel moved to offer it, just in case.)

I about peed my pants laughing, but that's very possibly ascribed to being
underslept and overstressed. (So of course I'm still on-line, says Doktor

Heh... uhm, I don't know, actually (how I have time for it). I guess
it's something I'm interested in, so it doesn't seem to take time... I
can browse and read when interested, and delete when not. All the mails
are topic'd pretty well, and I generally skip the diseases I'm not
interested in (say, dengue).

The ribs are getting better. Still knock my breathe away every one in
a while, and were very sore the other night. I think it was a few-days
side effect from trying to fit into a corset again. (I'm impatient...
heh) I think it also helps that we've been sleeping in the large pile
of pillows while Mars remakes the bedframe - we have a metal futon, and
the frame has been (literally) coming apart at the seams. Buying a new
one was costly, so he decided to rebuild the frame out of wood... til
that's done, we sleep on these:

I've not glittered anyone recently, but I did have sparkly silver and
shiny red plastic braided into my hair tonight, and several temporary
tattoos done... wheee! (Girls Night Out is fun!)

Anyhow. Yep. Girls Night... we talked about Neil a lot. It was fun.

With all that hair and behind those dark glasses, could be anyone
really. ^_^

Xander, Lori, and I are on our way into D.C. to do the rounds through
some museums, we're not completely sure which yet.  It's a free metro
weekend, so you lucked out, Neil.

Neil -- Speaking of which, a short plug: Next time you're in town if
you bring Maddy you might consider taking her to the Smithsonian's
Freer/Sackler museum -- they have a great program called "Imaginasia"
nearly every Saturday and Sunday afternoon for kids 6 to 14.  The kids
and a parent take themselves on a mini-tour to specific exhibits and
then return to the Imaginasia room to do a related activity.  Next
weekend, for example, they'll be making letter blocks and printing up
handscrolls.  The Washington Post called it "one of the most
imaginative and valuable learning programs on the Mall".  Lori used to
work for the program and I spent many fun Saturdays while we were
dating volunteering there, helping kids with calligraphy and making
japanese pots with clay and having kids explain to me the difference
between anthropomorphic and zoomorphic. ^_^

When I was fifteen, I said my jaw hurt.
It took me unconciously beating my head against a wall to STOP! THE!
PAIN! to get my mom to take me to an oral surgeon, who took out all
four wisdom teeth, which were growing in sideways, pushing directly
against the rest of my teeth... unfortunately cracking a molar next to
one of them so badly that it split down the middle, which I didn't know
until a year later when half fell out. I had to have the other half
extracted.
As for infection, that happened, so don't. Just don't. Trust me.

I'm so tempted to change my pseud to "I'll most likely kill you in the
morning."

I think I'd die laughing if Neil ever pops up as "The Dread Pirate
Gaiman"...
  

    
Angelina - you should know that the dress you wear serves only to make
the bride look even better.  :-)  It's amazing, this dress actually
makes me look fat, I didn't think that was possible, it intrigues me. 
So I leave class yesterday, drive all the way up here and get to the
rehearsal just as everyone was leaving, so I hope I don't mess up. 
With 6 other bridesmaids to follow though, I think I'll be okay.  As
long as I can Stop.  Sneezing.

little "push". And I think that our e-mails gave them just that.

    Neil - Good luck with the site. And the proposal for the Pirate site is
still on. One of my comic book lists is hot in the subject of the "Good
Omens" movie. One of the participants found it in the IMDB and is making a
lot of comments. Any news on that?

     One is gravely tempted to say that it will ster Terry Gilliam
(through the miracle of double-exposrue) as both supernatural
observers, who will be drivng a Corvette, necessitating a change of
title to ROUTE 666.  It will also feature Jeremy Irons in a double role
as Just William, while the voice-over narration required by the Bray
Convention of 1962 will be spoken by Charlotte Church, who plays Buffy
by arrangement with Paramount Pictures.  The film will be directed by a
large herd stampeding cattle on loan from Warner Brothers (the largest
such herd to direct a motion picture since CASINO ROYALE), while the
Warner Brothers will have a cameo doing the "There's Something You
Don't See Every Day, Chauncey" routine, on loan from Jay Ward, who
declined to appear in the film on grounds of humor.  Coming soon to a
bug onna stick near you.  Save your ticket stubs for a discount on
green mouse telephone at intermission.  Sorry, no chickens under 18
admitted.

But surely "Argh" is the sound of a sort of strangulated scream.
"Aargh" is the sound of a stabbing, or a falling off a cliff.

"Arr" is, I think, the noise you're looking for. It's the noise
pirates make when they don't have anything better to do. "Arr, Jim Lad"
= Pirate noise. "Aargh, Jim Lad" = sound of pirate falling off a
cliff.

*least* three years old... I remember some delightful stolen kisses

Hrm, speaking of Good Omens, when I first started playing with
PhotoShop, some four years ago I think, I did this piece as a desktop

Well, tonight is another show. I believe (although I could be a crack
muffin) that Ms. Soukup will be gracing our theatre tonight, and
answering questions like "Do you find the adaptation of your work to be
inspiring and thought provoking or is it a bit of hackery that you
want to be disassociated from?" I'm quite looking forward to it,
actually, as I've not yet had the pleasure of having the author of the
story I'm directing actually see the end result. Yes, very excited...
quite sure she'll love it and won't sue me for damages to her
reputation. I'm only bringing my lawyer along because she wants to see
the show... really.

By the way, the movie based on Neil's friend Mikal Gilmore's excellent
family history, "Shot in the Heart", is on HBO this weekend.  I hope it
lives up to its source material--haven't heard anything about it.
  

    
I just got back from the wedding almost exactly 12 hours after I left
and even though I don't drink it feels as though I did and everyone's
posts seem reeeally funny.  maybe it's the candy bars.  they had
candybars scattered all over the tables and I had many special darks. 
and the funny thing is I didn't get to follow anyones lead because I
ended up being at the head of everything.  hee.  and none of this is
important so I'll stop now.
