Julia Roberts To Produce Tough Call Girl Movie
Julia Roberts and Sex & the City creator Darren Star are teaming up to
make an unsentimental film about a prostitute. Roberts' Shoelace
Productions has hired Star to adapt Tracy Quan's book Diary Of A Manhattan
Call Girl: A Nancy Chan Novel. The writer promises it will be nothing like
the actress' loveable Pretty Woman, in which she plays a prostitute who
falls for Richard Gere, which was heavily criticized for its unrealistic
portrayal of the sex workers, expounding the 'hooker with a heart of gold'
cliche.
