Does 78º count as sub-tropical? 'Cause we set a new record high for this date, here in Knoxville. Mmmmmm... Short sleeves. Scarily end-of-the-world mixed up weather, but SHORT SLEEVES.

madman, I am fascinated by Minnie and Mickey's house in Toon Town at Disneyland. Do they have one in Orlando, too? I love listening to the messages on Minnie's answering machine, her computer program that tells her how to dress, and her kitchen with it's cake baking in the oven, its shopping list on the fridge door - if it can possibly have cheese in it, Minnie is buying it - and the fake-you-out cookie dish on the table. Also I think it's really interesting that Minnie's house has the kitchen, but Mickey's has the laundry room. Any insider info that Robynn can add about this would be much appreciated!

Toon Town at WDW is a pale shadow of the fullness that is DL's version. I'm not sure if they have houses in WDW; I'll ask Robynne.

Thanks Will, I think I did okay. Now to turn off my brain until January. :-) Glad things are smoothing out for you Rick. :-) I have given myself a quest, tomorrow I shall buy peeps and toothpicks and spend a bloody afternoon in front of the microwave. Hee, I love this place. :-) Oh my lord, do I really smile this much? How very... annoying. Just found my Islington... http://sparkycola.topcities.com/dwb/reb4.jpg Yummy. :-) Jen, who will next time try to pretend she's Buster when posting

Rick - Yay! Let us know when the new place is all settled and cozy. Dan W - I seem to recall being a few inches too tall to be a Mickey. My friend seemed to know more about the taller characters tho', as she was of Tigger height herself. Neil - I'm with Kelly, digress. damn, I need to go back to Disneyland. squeaks, who landed a very cool in-store today!

Do we get a behind-the-scenes tour from Robynne?? I don't try very hard to get y'all to go and check out different conferences on the WELL, but I'm going to make an exception right now: Go and read topic 125 in the life conference. g life. It's a masterpiece written by <leroy>, one of the best writers on the WELL, bar none, and she doesn't even write for a living. I bring this up now because she says she's written about all she has to say on the subject and is fixing to kill it. So go and read it before she does.

Some number of years ago (back before I knew her in person), Robynne did actually organize a WELL trip to Disney. Land, I assume, but I don't remember. Martha, do I remember correctly that you were one of the people who went? I know <doctorow> and <jacob> went, and I think <jef>... All before my WELL-time. And I do have a picture of the Endless at the It's a Small World ride.

<sidles over, wearing too-big trenchcoat and dark sunglasses, and whispers...> Hey, boys and girls, you wanna get into Disneyland? C'mon over here and I can get you a deal... Actually, umm... if a Barking Mad Disneyland Trip turns out to be a real thing, Kevin and I can get a certain number of people in for free. We'd be happy to. Of course, then you'll be stuck with us for the duration. Choose wisely. Rick: Congratulations!!! Good luck with moving. JaNell: The only interview I ever did that was printed made me want to go find a hole and bury myself in it. The reporter had her own agenda and misrepresented what I said. I didn't care for the experience. So you have my sympathy and support. Jen: Why Kant Pami read the website link you posted? I just got the topcities home page. Shouldn't I have seen a picture or something? Am I just completely clueless? DanGuy: Doesn't that sound *fabulous*? A job that's perfect for you? Persistence is often rewarded, so hang in there through the paperwork. Good luck! I don't talk a lot about my personal life here, but I've been having a tough time lately. I feel like a total whiner when taking into account the really rough stuff some people are going through now, including some of you guys here. But when it's hard, it's just... you know, hard. And I'm wearing the wrong life right now and I've completely outgrown it and it's cutting off the circulation to my two littlest toes on both feet and my back is killing me and I can't breathe very deeply and I have these voices screaming in the back of my head to DO SOMETHING about it all the damn time, and it's getting really hard to just soldier on. But it takes TIME to shift most of your life over onto another path, and it's going slowly. So I'm stuck with this INCREDIBLE energy internally shoving and pushing and yelling to get out the door and there's this big huge rock in front of the door that I'm trying to heave out of the way, and I'm getting squished by the pressure that's building up between them. -P feeling a little flattened

Dan the government job is so worth the paperwork. JaNell and Pam, the only published interview will be the bane of my existance for as long as it's on the web and I will never regret doing it, I was honest and it's not my fault I'm an overgrown kid. :) Linda, thanks for the info on the other conference. Barking Mad Disney Trip,....oh my, I'm in, even if I have to fly. Pam, as for feeling flattened, I understand, it's like clothes that don't fit right? I'm not adverse to being sympathic and just listening and I don't see/read a soul on here that seems to be. Jinx

Jinx~it's not the interview over at the KASFA site, is it? Hey, kids, guess what? The other half of the ConCat Team went behind my back to the MetroPulse and used his connections there to water down any possible litigation inducing statements (there weren't any), thereby permanently ruining any credibility I'd ever have had at the MP. You know, I'm pretty tired of not being valued by my "friends". I not only mean valued *as* a friend, but as all that I am, and all that I have to offer them, and others, the world and all...

Re: above~ I could possibly attribute his behind the back behavior as a result from his earlier in the week emergency room visit, but it's all of a piece with almost twenty years of knowing him. Anyway. Not as fun as Disney, I reckon. And I'm with Wednesday Addams on Disney.

(Errata: <jef> didn't go to the WELL Disney trip I refered to above, though <scraps> did.) When Robynne and I were at DL a few weekends ago she was supposed to be able to get in free with her WDW ID but DL refused to recognize it, so she had to get a friend to main gate her. Mickey is 5'2" or shorter- Robynne wasn't quite sure (conflicting reports) but knows she's either the right height or too tall. So squeaks is definately a rodent of unusual size.

Pamela - I am SO GLAD that SOMEONE went to read <leroy> and so glad that you liked it. Much sympathy and major beamage to you while you get your life sorted out. The process is not usually much fun, but it can be so worthwhile. Best to you for the duration. May I propose a Barking Mad Disneyland trip for December 26 or 27 since I will be conveniently in LA at that time?

Ack! I'm working on the 26th. But I'm definitely in for a Disney trip. Particularly if it's on this coast. DanGuy - Best of luck through all the paperwork. Looking at the stack of papers I must sort through in order to clean my apartment thoroughly, I don't envy you your task. :) JaNell - Don't think too much about it. Some people truly suck. Others out there are worth it. Leave the baddies behind and focus on positive things - about yourself and just stuff in general. Here, I'll give you a starting point: Think of chocolate cake, go get one, then eat some, and only share with good friends. :) Okay, off to check the boiling water for lunch. squeaks

Pamela - No clue why it won't work. I'm here from my roommates computer and it's working for me. Other than that though... ugh, know how you feel, sounds like you need a nice big dandelion break. At this time of year though really all you could do is go to the mall and throw cotton balls at people. I've taken a peek at the Leroy thing, interesting, I think tomorrow I'll just sit down and read big chunks. Jen.

Ohmigod, Linda. I'm totally in love. I'd ask <leroy> to marry me, except I think she's already in love. But I'm not positive, because I haven't read that bit yet. Oh, yeah. And also I'm already married. Of course, that's not necessarily to say, really. *sigh* And also... Linda in L.A.! YAY!!! *bounce, bounce* Lessee the calendar... Oh, December 26 or 27 is not a day off. Well, it might be possible. I'd have to work it out with my boss. I was actually going to suggest that any large-ish gathering for Disneyland be after the holidays, to make it easier on most folks. Also, I'm not sure if we've quite realized whether we're talking about Disneyland (CA) or Walt Disney World (FL). But we'd join anybody over on this coast. Jen: I *love* the idea of throwing cotton balls at people in the mall! Re: topcities link--I just wondered if you had to sign up in order to see member's pages, and that's why I couldn't see it. Anybody else having trouble getting to it?

If there is a serious Disneyland trip, we might want more than a few weeks to plan it... And, I'm going to be doing family things around Christmas, in Connecticut. And, do you have any idea how CROWDED the Disney's are the week? That's one of the busiest weeks of the year for them! :> I selfishly propose we put it off until next year and give it some serious planning instead of throwing things together. That way people have more time to clear out their schedules if they want to go from further away...
