        Kevin Smith is not, in fact, doing such a good job with Green Arrow;
his approach reminds me way to much of some of Mark Waid's greater sins
as a writer. Transmet is, of course, a kick and a half, but there are
other good titles to consider. For example, if you're not reading 100
Bullets, you're missing out on a really interesting story told in a
fascinating style. Christopher Priest is doing a good job over on
Black Panther, proving that he can bring out the hidden potential in
what was previously a dull, second-rate character. Why Marvel won't
let him write Captain America, I have no idea. The Authority was good
for the first year, but Mark Millar took the team in what I consider to
be the wrong direction. Oh, and of course Planetary kicks three cubic
acres of ass. And all of Moore's ABC stuff, too. Now quit reading
and get your butt to a comics shop.

DanW - I had the opportunity, at WonderCon a few years ago, to buy
that page of Preacher. I had the money for one page, and there were two
I wanted. I ended up getting one with Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy
instead. Part of me still kicks myself for not buying the supposed
'Neil slam' page, but mostly I'm happy with what I've got (even if Cass
did turn into a prick later). As for the not-Neil, if it was meant to
be Neil, he'd probably have stubble and look much more tired...
kidding! ;)

Annie - I'll put in another vote for Invisibles and Promethea, and I'm
really enjoying what Carey's doing with Lucifer.

squeaks, who usually only catches Neil at the tired end of the signing
tour.

<rant>Never name your pet after any law that dictates the chaos factor
of your life...

To anyone else who may be experiencing 'one of those days', know that
someone else out there is probably having one that's worse (probably
me). I'm fine now, but oooh, the work day was evil (and on a Friday!
how dare they ruin my Friday!)

Any way, I blame the deceased (ages ago) mouse. (what'd I have to go
and name a mouse Murphy for any way?)

Streak - Green Arrow isn't all that good? Damn. My comic guy really
likes it. Oh well, and just when I was about to give it a whirl. Sorry
Ollie.

Saw "Monsters Ball" tonight. It is an exceptionally good movie. Try
not to miss it.

Ms. Mousey - Yes it was one bitch of a day, and I'm still mourning
the loss of Mugsey cat who passed three weeks ago today. She was of
great assistance to me on days like our Friday. But not to worry, your
belated Murphy had nothing to do with it, chaos just usually invites
itself.

*waves* I'm pleased to announce that my intended week of writing
didn't at all work out, as I spent most of it reading all 10 of the
Belgariad/Mallorean books, by Eddings. I should probably feel guilty
about this, but they're such enjoyably good books,... and actually,
they gave me a pretty good starting point for myself - it got me back
into the fantasy frame of mind.

Anyhow, just dropping in to say hello. :-)

I have been informed that I am:

Butch Izzard: More likely to wear a leather jacket than a summer
frock, you look at things from a more rambunctious and bronzey kind of
way. That doesn't mean that you won't sweet-talk someone, it just means
you'll find a better innuendo with which to do it. You'd love to have
a cup of coffee.

Which Eddie Izzard Are You?
http://www3.sympatico.ca/jen.coe/quiz.html

I have spent my week-end trying on clothes and remembering, in the way
that trying on women's clothing under bad lighting in a shopping mall
filled with size 2 teenagers can only remind you, that I wouldn't
disolve into tears quite so easily if I actually cut out sweets and
bread and started exercising. Also, then I'd fit size 10 jeans again.
Which woudl eb cool, because I kind of miss size 10.

This pathetic sad ass girlie message has been brought to you by the
letter Q.

And now, to bed.

P.S. Any Wellies in la la land want to get together next week-end for
coffee or whatnot? I'm in L.A. for the Buffy Posting Board Party, and
am arriving Thursday morning and leaving Sunday evening. If so, email
me at ljconstantine@hotmail.com :)

Well, I'm a Slut Izzard and I just *discovered* Eddie Izzard in
"Dressed to Kill." Didn't stop laughing the whole time. Where has he
been all my life? And why didn't I listen to all you rabid Izzard
fans? Amazon.com is definitely going to make some money off of me.

And I just saw a preview of a new movie called "The Cat's Meow" about
the rivalry between William Randolph Herst and Charlie Chaplin for the
favors of Marion Davies. Eddie has the role of Charlie Chaplin. It
looks interesting, certainly better than the trailer for Star Wars, and
I almost didn't recognize him without the makeup. What a brilliant
man!

I am Movie Izzard. Just went looking for the cool quiz that used to
be up at Cake or Death, a cool Eddie site, and it no longer measures
one's Eddie contamination, but it's still fun. Look for it at
www.auntiemomo.com . It's in "fun stuff" at Cake or Death.

So yesterday me, Debbie & Chris decided to check out Chocolate Fest
(quelle suprise!) It turned out to be held at the Garfield Park
Conservatory, which is worth visiting all on its' lonesome. It
coincided with a Chihuly exhibit, and they gave away free chocolate.
It was pretty hard to get me to leave....:-) Did I mention it was
free? Totally cool.

I have finished the medallions! I've been working on a gift for the
mad Denny the Priest for over 3 years now, and I have finally finished
embroidering the 4 medallions that will go on it. That is,
theoretically, the biggest chunk of the work that needs to be done.
Now it's all assembly work. Hoping to post some photos when it's all
done. Yay! Now I can stitch stuff for me!

Mary, off to check out rents in Connecticut.

The backflip boy and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary by seeing the
National Acrobats of Taiwan R.O.C. at the Chicago Theatre.

If you put vaudeville, sleight of hand, wushu, dance, juggling,
tumbling, and Cirque de Soliel (now, I can't spell French. La chat est
sur la chaise. Je suis le Président de Borundi) in a blender, and then
skimmed off the creme de la creme off the top, you *might* come close
to how KICKASS the show was. Oh. My. God.

We then went and got crepes, and are now snuggled down under many many
blankets (winter finally hit Chicago. Only took 3 months.) on my
couch, watching "Edward Scissorhands" on DVD.

yay!

This week's episode of Oz on HBO has, in place of the usual narrative
interludes, fantasy musical numbers by many of the regular characters,
starting with Rita Moreno. With talent like that on the show they must
have been waiting for a chance.

B.D. Wong, who plays the prison's priest, sang Tori Amos's "God". Very
faithful cover to the original.

Oh, almsost forgot: I'm Kid Izzard. Go figure.
But then, over on the "which Prince of Amber are you" quiz (sorry,
mislaid the URL), I'm Caine, so -really- go figure.

I can't wait for the further expansion of this
personality-inventory meme -- "Which signer of the Declaration of
Independence are you?" "Which Member of the 'Black Sox Scandal' team?"
"Which Premier of the Republic of South Vietnam, Not That it Matters
Much?" "Which Neil Diamond Lyric?" "Which of the 95 Theses?"

Lots quicker than the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality
Inventory, and you don't need sharpened Number Two pencils.

Tara: You're coming to L.A.?!? How cool! Maybe you, Adriana and I

Mary: CONGRATS on finishing your project (almost)! It took me two

Damnably, googling for "which prince of amber are you quiz" doesn't turn up
anything interesting. I want to see this quiz.

Smooch! Thank you for missing me. Y'all are sweethearts.

In the last couple episodes of Queer As Folk there has been a comics and
superheros theme. Michael quit his job after they made him dress up as a
clown two days in a row and hand out balloons to kiddles. He went home
and sold one of his prized comic books on eBay for $10,000 and bought a
comic book store, which is doing a great business. Sandman was mentioned
at one point in last night's episode.

And, Annie, the full Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory II

I wish I lived in California so I could meet you guys in person (I'm
much cooler in real life. Really.) Wait. Did I just say I wished I
lived in CA? Doh.

Just finished a new story that I'm actually kind of proud of and think
might have a chance at being published. Of course, I always say
that...please send good vibes my way nonetheless.

Been trying to come up with a new story....but alas, we rented the
"Hedwig and the Angry Inch" Dvd this weekend and have watched it at
least five times. Just can't stop watching it. The critics who say it's
"the new Rocky Horror" are wrong. Very wrong. So now, as I attempt to
brainstorm, I can only hear my husband singing "I put on some make up.
Put on the 8 track. I'm gettin' my wig down off the shelf..."
Oh dear.
