E-mail from Glen Seymour:

Since Tara hasn't written anything since May, I
decided I was tired of waiting for my "These are not
my scary trousers" shirt to magically appear.

I went ahead and opened a Cafe Press account and
uploaded the design from
http://ljconstantine.com/wellians/scary_trousers2.jpg

Tara! (or anyone that knows Tara) please contact me at
GlenSeymour at Yahoo.com and tell me that it's okay
that I used your art. Once that is done (or not) I'll
send the URL to the topic. I intend to send all
profits to the CBLDF.

If there is a full Well member (instead of me, a
dedicated lurker) that wants to take over this job,
speak now or forever hold your peace.

- Glen

I drew some scary trousers, if anyone wants more designs:

http://www.eurydiceunderground.com/scarytrousers.jpg

I'm loopy, it's too late, and I'm not sleepy. So I drew some scary
trousers. Well, not scary trousers. Er, not *my* scary trousers.

P.S. I don't really know what scary trousers would look like, so I
guessed.

times.

Maure- those are some scary trousers indeed!

re ebay thing: that's messed up. anyone who calls themselves
darthtampon shouldn't be trusted anyhow. Very strange.

Erynn, who just sent a bunch of Coraline ecards to lots of
unsuspecting friends.

daughter, Jessamyn, was in from NJ and was there. She is a friend of a
member of The Mooney Suzuki, the band who opened.

Patricia - we did talk about it, and that's about as far as we got. Is
there an official request for a separate topic about Coraline?

584 - somehow my mangled brain read that as 'lemon scented and
stickier than james spader' - ew...

As for the Coraline signing, I should be easy to spot, as I've decided
that I'm going to take every opportunity I can to let other people see
the cool shirt my boy bought me. It's stripey. Red and black stripey
to be exact. And I have tights to match! So I'll be the one in the
front of the room, full of silly stripey goodness. I may even wear
pigtails, if they seem necessary at the time. I think the real question
is, are we doing anything *other than the reading* together as a
group? (How about grabbing a drink or dessert or something afterward?)

Maure - the trousers are indeed very scary.

ebay scares me. Either the stuff is that good (and I'm suddenly that
broke), or it's just plain unbelievably wrong and scary.

squeaks, who is off to dote on the boy now

Couldn't you take the in-laws with you? Give them a "new" experience.

Today we are going to a book reading. Of a really fine author. We will
all wear these printed T-Shirts so we know the others of our kind
there. We will sand for long hours in a line. Then we will sit at the
feet of the Neil Gaiman and listen. Here are your pillows to sit on.
Afterward, we will talk incessantly about our fave author and you can
each buy a book so you can read it and have something in common with
her child and their spouse.

Well, geez. Then you can go and do all the really dull mind numbing
things they want to do when you are usually with them that make both of
you want to not do this again any time really soon. And, you never
know. They might like it so much that they actually DO establish
something in common with you and the spouse and improve the
relationship. That or they'll go home and tell the whole family what
wierdos you are. Which is better than some of the things they could and
probably have told them in the past. Being wierd to my family has been
the funnest time I've ever had with them sometimes.

E-mail from Glen Seymour:

Hello people,

I have opened up 2 Cafe Press stores for products.
http://www.cafepress.com/cp/store/store.aspx?storeid=gaimanMob is all about
fish. But http://www.cafepress.com/cp/store/store.aspx?storeid=GaimanPants is
about Scary Trousers.

I want to thank Mike for the quotes, and Tara for the images.

WARNING: I went ahead and ordered a "Scary Trousers" shirt for myself. BUT! I
haven't seen it yet. So, I will not accept blame for any weird stuff going on
with the images. If you are the cautious type, wait until someone else orders
one to see how it looks.

I've been playing with Maure's new trousers to see if I can get a sharp image,
so I'll probably post that when I get back from Courts of Chaos Con.

Hurrah! I picked up the one-n-only CD copy of Coraline from my local
Borders today, thoroughly disappointing the girl at the customer
service desk, who was surprised that Neil had anything new out, was
dually astonished at "Plays for Voices", and crestfallen when I
followed through on my request to buy Coraline. Sarah and I listened to
Chapter 1 on our way home from a late dinner, and I figure it should
last me through tomorrow and Wednesday before I finish listening to it,
on my way to & from work, and the last hour when things are
tomb-silent around the office.

Glen, don't worry about it. I was just up and dilly-dallying late at
night. I was just being silly.

Bill, I got mine this afternoon. Intended to listen to it while doing
other things, but it didn't quite work out that way.

Neil, It's wonderful.

Yes, drinks or something afterwards is a must, must must.

Well, it's been interesting lately... I found out recently that the
job I've had for 6 and a half years will cease to exist (along with the
organization I've had it with) on (of all days) my birthday. Our
funding is part of the 28 Billion dollars that is being cut out of the
state budget. Thank you dot.com crash and Enron.
Fortunately, it looks like other work is already lining up, so I'm not
as freaked out as I was last week at this time.

Also, if anyone is interested there are some still up from the movie
I'm shooting at http://www.travel-light.com/syn.html

Ooh, very cool, Dan. Congratulations.

Yes, we must go out afterwards, but: no cold, greasy Pizza Slices in a
place with the lighting from Hell!

Sorry about the job. It sounds like you won't be among the ranks of the
unemployed for long, though. Good luck with that.

Dodge- I'm sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I agree with you 100%
about sharing the weirdness. They already know I'm a freako, and I
don't alter my behaviour for them. I was just grumbling because I'm in
Los Angeles and the reading is in SF, which I would normally travel to
go see but I can't because the relatives are coming to visit here.

long a drive is it from LA to SF? Could you make a day of it? Offer to
pay their hotel if they go?

I'm sorry to hear about the job, Dan. I guess no more meets in the park
during lunch soon, eh?
Last night I had a bizarre dream that I don't remember much of, except that
it involved two favorites from these parts- Martha Soukup and Eddie Izzard.
All I remember at this point was I was talking to Izzard and he was friends
with Martha or something like that.

I was at work until 4:30am last night, so my dreams were a little weird.
