Mary - I'm so glad you had fun! And yes, DreamHaven is evil like that
(in the best way, of course, but still evil). Oh, and did Ms. Lioness
do her haiku earring thing? And feel better! Being sick is teh suxx0rz!

DanGuy - Glad everyone is adjusting to the new house so well. It
sounds wonderful. :D

I just spent $60 on Dreamhaven. I coulda spent a whole lots and lots
more. Sigh.

Are they holding things to get Neil's signature yet, do you know? I
know he's working on the book but I can wait. Hopefully. Ah, well, by
the time I get some more money, maybe he'll have finished the book.

Hi all

I just had to pop in and share my experience about the evilness of Greg
Ketter and his bloody Dreamhaven!

Right. When I came to Fiddler's Green, Greg gave me some cash (it was the
last part of my illustrators fee for Shoggoth's) so that I wouldn't have to
change so much currency...

... by the end of the weekend I realized that I had actually handed all that
money (...and then some) BACK to him!

Dammit!

;-)

Jouni(who still misses all the cool people from Fiddler's Green)

Should do an annual or semi-annual weekend reunion.

Yeah. The guys at Dreamhaven don't have Shadows over Baker Street in
hardback but they have it in paperback. They don't have the new
hardback #1 in yet because a box from their suppliers disappeared so it
won't be in until next week. And, no, they are not holding books for
signature. They pile up too much.

Jouni - He kept a lot of my money too. *sigh* It was worth it though.
Blessed be the ones who spend their money on books and art.

I nominate Rio de Janeiro for the union reunion. Nice weather,
gorgeous beaches and the Bienal with the new deluxe Sandman series. I’m
still all alone in this neck of the woods and would like some company.
I keep finding Brazilian fans in their 20s, but nobody in the late
30-40s range. I’ll try to ask my teen to invite me into Orkut as Mr.
Gaiman suggested.

The new fancy editions will be my first Sandman in Portuguese and I’m
hoping they will be released monthly – I’m waiting for too many things
already. Including the soft toy of Dream and Daniel for my youngest. I
need goodies.

I have to mention that people here are big (make the “big” bold and
underlined) fans of his and I have explained to those who asked after I
came back from FG that in order to bring Mr. Gaiman down here things
have to be arranged way in advance and not at the last minute. If they
want it to happen they should e-mail his publisher and ask. We have a
saying here: agua mole em pedra dura tanto bate ate que fura (try and
try until you succeed). He’s very respected here. Well, everywhere –
but Brazilians are more enthusiastic about it.

Anyway – give Rio some thought, people. If not, I still have plans for
a New York detour later this year and I know a really good sushi place
on Sullivan.

Ohh, I've been wanting to go to Rio for years. I have a former
teacher there I wouldn't mind visiting.

In fact, that may be the only way to convince me to travel for this,
unless Neil was coming, that is. You'd just have to time it so I
happened to be in a period of fiscal denial. ;)

Let's see, yahoo travel says I can get to Rio and have a hotel for 2
nights for under $3k. It wouldn't be the most expensive vacation I've
ever taken - or the longest flight.

Hmm...

You know. We COULD have everyone from a certain city where they live
all get together ... But alas, I don't know of anyone that comes here
to this topic that's from Houston.

Here's an idea. We could have a meeting once a year or every two years
over a four day weekend - not on a holiday to avoid bad travel stuff.
Or maybe on one to avoid anyone losing vacation time.

Anyway, Everyone that is here. We go to the city of one of the
participants. Like one year Rio, the next Washington DC, the next
Houston etc. And the person there suggests hotels and comes prepared
with sightseeing information as to What to See while in that city.
Including fave comic and book shops and so forth.

And... Well. that's as far as I've gotten.
