Makes sense. Well, please keep me in the loop if there's anything I
can do to help.

(I think they're evening people. At any rate, her husband tends to
call me in the evening when there's CSMC treasury business to be done.)

<Today I made the first batches of salsa, all with stuff from the
garden. (And store-bought limes.)>

Ah, but the real question is: Were they stunt limes?

I've been meaning to mention that sometimes, after I've logged onto
the Well, navigated away, and come back, I do see the login page again.
It sounds like the same problem Neil was having in Explorer (which
I'm using).

BUT -- I don't have to log in again. I just hit "Refresh" and all's
well. Maybe Neilstar Runner can try that next time it looks like
Explorer logged him out of the Well.

Logging out on purpose now. It's too dang hot to have the laptop on.
Even after midnight. The reprieve from the heat wave was fun while it
lasted....

Thanks for being willing to take the time to do another interview
here, Neil. :)

Reservations made. I even managed to get something work related into
this trip - if all goes well, and G'd willing, I'll be there on the
second week of September. I'll fly more on this trip than I'd care to,
but I'll get to see so many people in such a short space of time that
I'm ignoring the phobia and braving it.

Sushi in NY is a go.

Dan
I have something for the kids. Even if I don't make it to DC, I 'have'
to send it to you. I made one for Max and it's the cutest thing ever!

Tiny
Stunt limes? BTW - it took me ages to figure out that your limes are
our limões and your lemons are our limas. Somehow the names got all
jumbled so one would sound like the other. Believe it or not, it does
make a difference - just ask the lemon tree (that was supposed to be a
lime tree) out in the garden.

And where does the energy and time come from? Tours, interviews...
It's something that continues to impress me. With 40 hanging around
me, I'd like to find out.

GA (abbrev. for Georgia; I also have a friend we call VA) -- Cool!
Sushi in NY sounds terrific.

Hey, you don't happen to know Raphy Sutton, do you? He's another
Brazilian I met at a New York signing.

We used to have a tree in our backyard in Houston that was a hybrid
lime/tangerine tree! The fruit was kind of an extra-sweet lime taste.

They weren't this lime, though:

I clicked and a tiny head, floating in a sea of black started talking!
I don't know it it was due to my WMP's black background or what - but
that was a bit eerie. The stunt lime (v. green) - now I finally get it
and it's funny.

And no, I don't know the guy. Which is kind of to be expected, since
it's a pretty big country. Though whenever I say that I remember when I
asked the guy with the UVA sweatshirt sitting next to me in a bus
going from Netanya to Kfar Saba (if memory serves me) if he knew so and
so and not only did he, but his friend had dated her. To this day I
can't get over the fact that happened!

Now to bed.

It's a big country indeed, but I figured the intersection of it and
Gaimandom is probably at least a _little_ smaller, especially with New
York visits thrown in. Heck, I still can't get over the fact that
you've heard of Dr. Ripper!

Yeah, I thought that choice of a black background for the interview
was pretty strange. Maybe if Neil were a blond and wore something that
didn't absorb ALL visible light, it would have worked better....

Correct me if I'm wrong. Neil will be signing in DC on Sept 24, but
Mirrormask doesn't open until the 30th.

I doubt I'll take 2 trips to DC.

It's the smallest size I could find - 3 months. I hope you & the
family like it.

Tiny
You're right. I followed Mr. Gaiman's advice and joined Orkut and the
Sandman/Gaiman groups are around 5,000 people in one and 2,000 in the
other. And not everybody travels around - so it would be a small group
of Neil Gaiman fans who also travel around. I wish I did know him -
it's sort of lonely (only one person I met here who is a fan and a
comic reader).

The interview: I showed it to the young'un and she loved it - "Mr.
Gaiman is a talking head!"

Notshakespeare
It will be odd to call everybody by their given names once we are face
to face. In my brain I'll still think - Keeper of the rat gravy,
Tinymonster, Dan guy etc...

I think I'm going to be able to see the premiere - I'll be elsewhere,
but where there'll be a showing. Which makes me happier than most.

Question - this forum is public, right? As in people can just browse
even if they can't post? I wanted to leave my NY number somewhere.

Dan -- Odd; I just saw her on Sunday and she said she hadn't heard
from you. I wish you'd e-mailed me sooner; I could have made sure you
had the right number.

!Shakes -- I don't suppose you could take one trip to NY (signing) and
one to DC (movie)? <eg>

The rest of us locals (all 2 of us, perhaps) should make a date. I
can think of a few people I could drag along. <veg>

Georgia -- That is a GREAT shirt. :) And who knows, maybe Raphy'll
show up at the New York events. (I should really shoot some e-mails
around; I'll bet there are more off-Well people I know who will be
there.)

You can always e-mail some of us with your NYC number, if you'd like.
If you click on our usernames, you should see a bio that includes (at
least) an e-mail address.

Cool! She really is eager to do it. Gene must have forgotten to
deliver your message.

A thought: Maybe we can get the Spirit Massage guy for Saturday and
Julie for Sunday evening -- especially if (I don't know yet) Gene and
Julie will be at the concert where i'm singing Sunday afternoon in
Northern VA.*

That was weird; my unfinished message just seemed to post all by
itself.

*I'll be singing in Reston at 2:30 on 9/25, but the composer hasn't
told me where yet. Neil et. al., you are of course welcome.

How funny that Neil may be auctioning off salsa soon. I had just been
thinking a few days ago that I'd be curious to try some of his
homemade salsa....

And I think Neil should submit that last kitty picture
(http://www.neilgaiman.com/journal/2005/09/label-ponders.asp) to
http://www.mycathatesyou.com.
