I totally agree about Bali. We got out of Kuta as soon as we could,
and headed to the North, where there were almost no tourists in sight,
even during x-mas season.

I've used the frozen coconut milk (and the frozen grated coconut),
too, with great results. It tastes even fresher than the canned ones to
me, and so it's great whenever I've needed to really highlight the
coconut flavor, like a coconut ice cream or a haupia filling.

Now I need to start planning a trip to magical Indonesia... this
cookbook has really inspired me!

This Saturday I'll be using the book to cook for some friends from
Singapore. Not sure what to make, but it's going to be meaty.

Score! I was at Berkeley Bowl today, and found fresh (although a bit
long in the tooth) turmeric. I bought a fistful of it to put into the
