   I had always hoped that parents would read it before giving it to their
kids -- I wanted them to get the message that being short is okay, since
their worries affect their kids. And I wanted to deliver a second opinion on
hormone treatments.

  Parents, of course, feel comfortable getting in touch. So it's all good,
but I'd like to know what the younger readers think.

Same here.  Sorry  I was out of town for the last week or so of it.

While out of town, I picked up a copy of "Science Digest" from May
1944 at a used bookstore.  What should be on the inside front cover but
a story headlined "New Hope for Short People"!  It was a capsule
summary of an article from Science about the "isolation of the
growth-stimulating hormone from the pituitary gland".  Despite the
headline, the story did not get into details about who might "benefit"
from this discovery.
