Your book examines these phenomena from a vaiety of views, patiently
and persistently. It also points out that devotion (meditation) can
keep one in a correct direction.

Richard, I am so sorry to say that our official interview ends today,
and we did not even begin to scratch the surface of the content of your
book. Even though it's come to an official end, you are more than
welcome to continue to check in with us. I know that I am going to
have a lot more to talk to you about when I finish the book.

Is there an URL where people can buy your book?

Thank you for being so generous with your time.

Thanks so much for joining us, Richard!

Though we're launching another discussion today, this conversation can
still continue if you're both willing to devote more time to it.

I haven't read the book (but will) but I found this particular
conversation with Richard very interesting and given the subject, from
someone who seems to have their head firmly planted in reality space.
Thanks for your time, Richard.

Thanks very much to all of you. I'd be happy to keep the discussion
open if anyone is interested.

In response to #51: yes, I would say that meditation can help one keep
a straight course--whatever form you happen to use. Another thing that
keeps one on track is one's own inner sense of decency. This is a
rather old-fashioned word, I realize, but I honestly believe that this
quite common-sense view of what's right and wrong--which practically
all of us have--is an extremely important safeguard.

That is to say, it's not just for other people. Your sense of decency
will protect YOU against doing things that can, in the end, get you
into a huge amount of trouble.

I've yet to read a Kindle edition of any of my books, or of any book.

For that matter, I've yet to get a Kindle.

I am very low-tech and am one of the few people left in the United
States who still owns a dumbphone.

My wife has a dumbphone (nice) as well and believes that such devices
are for making phone calls. But slowly she's being seduced by the
possibility of showing off pictures of our dog to anyone who asks
and some who don't ask.

I didn't realize for a long time that you can read kindle editions on
a regular computer with your web browser. Something called Kindle Cloud
Reader. It's great for something you have to research and need in
minutes rather than in days, if that is ever the case.

Just saying, in case others haven't noticed that, like I hadn't until
recently.

And there's a Kindle app available for laptops, desktops, and most
kinds of phones and tablets.

Yeah--the only thing about reading on your laptop is that your lap
gets hot after the computer has been on it for a while...
