Enterprise upgraded me to a black Suzuki SUV, which has a CD player which is REALLY improtant to me as I have a zizllion miles of driving to do in the nexst six days. Left Haddon Hill at 2:15, landed in Grants Pass a little before 9. Another 4 hours to drive tomorrow, destination Newport OR, where I will appear at a Performing Arts Center. Possibly the classiest gig I will have all year. We shall see. The scary leg of the tour is Seattle Saturday night and Port Orford OR Sunday, estimated 9 hours driving between the two. I hope to get some sleep along the way.

So, you seem willing, to keep moving. Have you been Tuson to Tucumcari, Tehatchipi to Tonopah? Sorry, I'm being silly. Helluva lot of driving. Be safe.

Seattle to Port Orford will be long, David, but unencumbered on a Sunday. Just a bit rainy, perhaps. Bon voyage.
I somehow manage to do it without weed, whites or wine, Evan! Good thing: in-room coffee (thank gopod I drink it black, or the powdered whitener would queer the deal). Bad thing: free "continental breakfast," which invariably consists of bad pastry and rarely offers much in the way of protein or fiber. This hotel has the former but not the latter, which is fine with me.
