I remembered this fine older conversation from back in 1999, and sure
enough it gives a lovely backdrop to today. Perhaps somebody else will

Thanks, Gail...  I have been remembering that I did an Inkwell conversation
before, didn't realize how very long ago it was. (I myself won't be
rereading it, though a visit with an earlier self could be interesting at

I rather imagine that was supposed to go in the Occupy topic.

I used to think that it would be dishonorable to die without having
spent a night in jail for reasons of principle. I thus far have not
earned the status of honorable, I am very sorry to say.

Sounds almost like the seed of a poem that would resonate with a lot
