I might own it....

I built an awning on the back patio today. It needs work, still,
but is functional.

Did I mention that it's also kind of funny-looking?
Key ingredients are white corrugated plastic panels, black iron
threaded pipe [vertical support], concrete blocks that come with wood tops
[iron pipe support], white plastic pipe [horizontal support], hook-&-eye
sets [eave suspension], and lots of nut-bolt pairs. Pretty much anyone
could do this.

Published by Avon in 1985. "Talking Heads: The Band and their Music," by
David Gans. Between the time I signed the contract and when it was
published, the editor left the company and the company abandoned music titles
and trade paper. So it didn't do well.

It was published in England, too, with a much cooler cover. my parents
brought me a copy of that one.

Avon failed to honor their contract, which would have allowed me to buy
remaining copies after they deleted it, so I have only two copies. Plus one
of the UK edition.

i wonder if there is a upcoming talking heads anniversary you could update
it for and get it reissued (or maybe just scan it in - i'm sure a lot
of talking heads sites would link to it).

I think that Gail Williams and the other WELLbeings involved in
constructing the inkwell should take a bow or three. The website is
growing and improving. You've made well.com worth bookmarking.

Who planned/is planning the inkwell conference pages? Other than
yourself and the hosts, Gail? Who implemented/is implementing it?
I'd like to hear from the designers and technicians about their
successful incorporation of inkwell into the well.com website.

Btw, give your non-member chum the www.well.com URL only. Let her/him
find her/his own way around the inkwell. Here's what I did and what I
experienced whilest exploring the environs....

1.) Entered <http://www.well.com/>. The WELL home page. Quickly
spotted _Meet Farai Chideya in Inkwell.vue_.

2.) Clicked on <http://www.well.com/conf/inkwell.vue/> _Inkwell.vue_.
Soon noticed _Introducing The WELL's Online Bookstore: Order your
copy here_.

3.) Clicked on <http://www.well.com/bookstore/> _WELL Bookstore_.
Links to books by inkwell featured guests Farai Chideya, Thaisa Frank,
Phil Catalfo, Martha Soukup, and Reva Basch.

4.) Clicked on <http://www.well.com/bookstore/morebooks.html> _More
Authors & Artists_. Links to books by WELLbeings Mimi Albert, Donna
Atwood, Stewart Brand, Carol Brightman, William Calvin, Phil Catalfo,
Francesca De Grandis, Gavin Edwards, Cliff Figallo, Thaisa Frank,
Gary Gach, David Gans, Mike Godwin, flash gordon, m.d., Cynthia
Heimel, Marjorie Ingall, Bob Jacobson, Paul Joannides, Jon Katz,
Kevin Kelly, Mary Mackey, Susan McCarthy, Dianne Pitman, Howard
Rheingold, Evelyne Slomon, Bruce Sterling, and Betty Toole.

At this point, I judged www.well.com worthy of a bookmark.

Credits should include Michelle Fox for Inkwell web site design, Anthony
Siino for WELL homepage updates, Janis Mara for getting the word out about
Inkwell.vue, and Chris McGrail for getting Engaged to work appropriately for
us. With other technical support by Michelle Fox and Pete Hanson, and
earlier relevent coding by Bryan Higgins. Torture-testing by first guest
Reva Basch and tremendous appreciated support by all the posters in the
conference. Thank *you* !
