Joe Flower
Founder and principal of The Change Project, Joe Flower is the author of two books and hundreds of articles. He is a contributing writer at New Scientist and The Healthcare Forum Journal. He is a system host for the Well, and a member of the International Health Futures Network.
He is a nationally-recognized speaker on issues of change, technology, and community. We have compiled an online brochure for his talks.
His publications include:
- Prince of the Magic Kingdom: Michael Eisner and the Re-Making of Disney (1991, North America; 1992, France; 1993 North America, paperback), which told the story of a much-loved organization going through bewildering changes.
- Age Wave (1989, with Dr. Ken Dychtwald), which detailed the deep changes American society is going through as its population ages. It has sold some 250,000 copies.
- Three major healthcare "compendia," published by The Healthcare Forum Journal : "The Electronic Hospital" (1985), "Benchmarking: Tales From the Front" (1993), "Healthier Communities Compendium" (1993), as well as major parts of the Healthcare Forum's "Healthier Communities Action Kits."
- Articles in such diverse periodicals as Esquire, New Age, Whole Earth Review, Utne Reader, Reader's Digest, GQ, M, Islands, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Sport, Playboy, and Travel and Leisure , as well as such professional journals as the National Bar Association Journal and Government . These articles are regularly used as supplementary text in seminars and university classes. and have been reprinted in the United States, Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.
