CDS--Children's Day School, 333 Dolores St. @ 16th St., San Francisco 2nd Saturday English dance, 7:30 PM starting time!
ECV--El Cerrito Veterans' Hall, 6401 Stockton, El Cerrito New home for the East Bay Square/Contra dance, now on Sundays at 7pm
FCC--Fairfax Community Church, 2398 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Fairfax. 4th Saturday contradances

SJS--First Christian Church, 80 South 5th Street, San Jose 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesday English dancing

Wednesday 3
First Wednesday San José English Dance at SJS. Alisa Dodson calls to the music of Greenwich Mean Time

East Bay Contradance at NFM. David Newitt calls with an open band featuring Paul Kotapish, Laura Risk, & Craig Johnson

Friday 5
First Friday English dance at MT. Bob Fraley calls to the music of the Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Stan & Susan Kramer)

Saturday 6
First Saturday San Francisco Contradance at SF with Charlie Fenton calling and music by the Hillbillies from Mars (Ray Bierl, Kevin Carr, Paul Kotapish, & Daniel Steinberg)

Wednesday 10
The Second Wednesday English dance at NFM: Alisa Dodson calls to the music of Craig Johnson, David Newitt, Allen Dodson & Anise Feldman

Friday 12
2nd Friday East Bay Contra at FIN, Kirston Koths calls; the Moving Cloud Orchestra (Paul Kotapish, Paul Machlis, Laura Risk) help impel the moving feet.

Saturday 13
The 2nd Saturday Family Dance, for dancers of all ages, starts at 5pm at PA, with Bob Fraley and Joyce Uggla leading dances. There's a potluck after the dance; please bring a dish to share. Call 415/856-0843 or 415/965-9169 for more information.

Following the Family Dances, there's the Palo Alto Contra at PA, called by Jim Saxe with, music by the wonderful High Fiddlelity (Kevin Carr, Piper Heisig, Barbara Mendelsohn, & Jim Oakden).

Also on Saturday is the 2nd Saturday San Francisco English dance at CDS. This dance starts at 7:30pm and features Bruce Hamilton teaching and leading dances, music is by Jon Berger, Peter Spicer, Allen Dodson, Anise Feldman.

Sunday 14
The East Bay Square/Contra series moves to 2nd and 4th Sundays and heads north to ECV--a spacious hall in El Cerrito--at a new time: 7pm. Join the redoubtable Jim Saxe and musicians Kathrine Gardner, David Brown, & friends for the hall-warming!

Wednesday 17
The East Bay contradance at NFM with Charlie Fenton calling and music by Chris Knepper, Chuck Aronson, & Charlie Hancock.

In San José, the English dance holds forth at SJS with Jody McGeen calling with music by Greenwich Mean Time (Stan and Susan Kramer, Kay Thorne and Vaughn Wolff)

Friday 19
The Palo Alto English dance at MT, featuring Bob Fraley and music by the Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Stan and Susan Kramer)

Saturday 20
The San Francisco contradance features Eric Black calling and music by Ray Bierl, Craig Johnson, & Lee Anne Welch.

Wednesday 24
English dance at NFM: David Newitt calling and music by Chuck Ward, David Strong and Avis Minger.

Friday 26
The fourth Friday contra at SF with Charlie Fenton calling and music by The Guppies (Kathrine Gardner, Craig Johnson, & Jim Oakden)

Saturday 27
The Palo Alto contra, at (surprise) PA. The caller's yet to be determined, but the band is The ContraBandits (Kathrine Gardner, Charlie Hancock, Chris Knepper, & Kit Nelson).

Up in Marin County, there's a dance in Fairfax at FCC with Stuart Moody calling and music by Alison Gee & friends.

The East Bay experienced English dance takes place at NFM. Alisa Dodson leads dances, with music provided by Rod Stradling, Avis Minger and Jon Berger.

Sunday 28
Learn how to Hambo! Erik Hoffman leads a special workshop at 4 to 5:30pm at the Thousand Oaks Baptist Church at 1821 Catalina Street (off of Solano Avenue) in Berkeley. Music provided by Kathrine Gardner; $5, no membership discount.

Following the hambo workshop, also at Thousand Oaks Church, will be the regular Square/Contra series at 7pm. Erik Hoffman calls with music by John Pedersen, Mike Drayton, & Perry Fly

Wednesday 31
The San José English dance takes place on this 5th Wednesday at STS. Jody McGeen & Alisa Dodson lead dances with music by Greenwich Mean Time
