Griff vaulted into the stands and -- demonstrating why, despite an injured knee, he was celebrated for key game winning plays -- wove deftly up through the in-motion celebrating crowd.
Caydance fastened her picnic basket and stood up.
Looking nervously across the field at the Head Coach who had noticed him and was pointing cheerfully at the clubhouse door, Griff spoke quickly:
"Next Wednesday same place same time?"
In the tradition of movie scenes, all around her the crowd answered "yes". She smiled at Griff and held out her hand to accept the torn program back cover onto which he had written the name of the bar where they had met and his phone number.
"Yes," she replied.
