OK, it's a sleeper...

(And I need to update this picture, because I now have a set of SR-5 wheels.)

 

Current Modifications:

Engine:

  • DOA Racing Engines balanced/blueprinted 22RTE block, including JE 8.5:1 forged pistons, O-ringed block, fully race-prepped stock rods, ARP rod bolts, nitrided crank, align bored cylinders and crank mains, etc. This block was worked over.

  • Garrett T3/T04E turbocharger, ceramic ball bearing, 50 trim compressor, Stage II exhaust turbine, .48 A/R exhaust housing

  • DOA Racing Engines modified 22RE cylinder head:

    • New Toyota casting

    • Ported and polished intake and exhaust runners (LOTS o' time here)

    • 1mm oversize valves

    • Dual valve springs

  • Competition Cams 260S cam

  • DOA Racing Engines High flow throttle body and plenum upgrade (eliminates the air control valve, a notorious acceleration bandit). All ports on the plenum and lower intake manifold gasket matched.

  • Ford Explorer 65MM throttle body and custom adapter

  • ARP cylinder head studs <-- highly recommended!!

  • RC Engineering 550 cc/minute injectors

  • Intercooler (3" inlets, 4" core, approx. 7" X 19" X 4"), 3" intercooler piping

  • LC Engineering turbo header and 2.5" downpipe

  • Turbonetic's Deltagate external wastegate

  • F.A.S.T. programmable engine management system (formerly called the Speed Pro/FelPro SEFI8LO system)

  • GM idle air control motor (controlled by the above ECU)

  • HKS EVC EZ electronic boost controller

  • GReddy Type-S Blow Off valve

  • LC Engineering double-width timing chain conversion

  • LC Engineering adjustable cam gear

  • MSD 6A ignition

  • Car Sound 3" free flow catalytic converter

  • Custom complete 3" mandrel bent, 16 ga. T304 stainless steel exhaust, including MagnaFlow "Wide Open" stainless steel muffler

  • RS Akimodo open-cone-style K&N filter.

  • Magnecor spark plug wires

  • Setrab oil cooler

  • Earl's braided stainless lines and hose ends

Nakamichi amp, Denon CD changer, 8" Vifa subs in sealed enclosures. There's another amp under the passenger seat. (This is the old setup; no pics of the new setup.)
