Utah, Spring 2010: The Wildlife

Wildlife photos are difficult in Utah, where most animal activity takes place at night. Deer abound everywhere, however, and the Bighorn Desert Sheep at Zion National Park are so accustomed to human activity that they graze only a few feet from the road.

With spring bursting forth, these mule deer are shedding their winter coats, thus their scraggly appearance.

A flock of Bighorns is gathered on a rocky outcropping, with some 15 adults and half a dozen lambs. These two lambs are adorable.

Four legs, six legs, even eight!
