Hydrography of the Berkeley Marina, from an April 2000 Survey

South Approach Channel (deepest)

Center and North Approach Channels

Harbor Entrance Channel, Fuel Dock,
and BYC Guest Dock

Docks K, L, M, N, and most of O

Docks A, B, C, D, E, part of O, the Main Fairway,
and the Berkeley Marine Center

Docks H, I, J, K, and the Ferry Dock

Docks F, G, and the Radisson Hotel dock

Based on this survey, the controlling depth of the channel is slightly less than seven feet. Note that the minimum depth occurs at the western edge of the survey area, and the trend is unfavorable with increasing distance offshore.

This implies that for a dredging project to be effective it must address the approach channel. It is not known how far to the west it will be necessary to dredge in order to increase the controlling depth of the approach.
