E-mail from Tori Bat:

Boy did I ruin that or what! wow~ Linda I had no idea you'd be that quick
to post my email! (and RIGHT after JaNells post too!) *giggle* well I
never have been patient and definatly not very smooth in the not obvious
way (if that makes sense) I think I need to crawl back into bed and nap
the rest of the day away.

But I DID finish my Tori (the other one) painting~ its very kewl.
I took the Enjoy character(it always makes me think of Maryiln Monroe-->
but maybe that was spending SO much time working at the art museum)
and did a nice Warhol-ish painting. 4 enjoys in various colors~ they're
wild. neon pink/orange and green * orange/blue and lavender * neon
pink/brown/yellow and lavender * and red/green and pink  ---> being a
perfectionish I spot all the mistakes first~ and I have to take pictures
and photo copy it soon because I am still kicking myself for not doing
that with the paper doll I made for her~

Oh! Neil, speaking of Warhol--> I was re-reading Death:THCOL and I found
it amusing to see the Warhol poster in the garbage dump... is that a
opinion on warhol's work..or is it an opinion on peoples opinions of his
work. because I was almost shocked to hear SO many people come out of the
gallery saying things like "thats not art...art is FINE art" and several
people asked me for a refund (I couldnt do it I was working in the gift
shop) but anyway...
ok I'm off... gotta help with dinner!
                                     *HUGS*

Neil- I wasn't blaming anyone for the no-stories-in-the-booklet
thing.(you get so defensive sometimes! :) ) It was my only gripe and it
goes away whenever I put the album on th stereo. And yes, it would be
cool if they'd put that interview up. I had almost forgotten about
that. Dammit. Another gripe.

Anyone who hasn't done so: buy the album and listen to it on
headphones while drinking red wine. Amazing. Really.

I definitely don't go to the Dent forums to get the latest news. I go
there because there are a handful of intelligent people who have
interesting things to say. I am, however, guilty of flaming various
trolls who wander in from time to time, and those who believe
everything they say. Immature? Pointless? Yes. But one needs an outlet
for ones 23 year old angst sometimes. And better to do it anonymously
than, say, here, or at an innocent husband. On the other hand, the last
time I discouraged someone from spreading unconfirmed rumors, to my
surprise, they turned out to be true. Whodathunkit?

Janell- I enjoy your blogger.

I'm writing a screenplay again! Weeee! For once I have a useful
friend. He's is in film school and has access to lots of fancy film
equipment for free. So we're going to make a short film. The problem is
that he doesn't have a creative cell in his body. He's read some of my
stories and assigned me to do the writing. Oh the possibilities! We
were thinking of filming in the Italian restaurant that I work in
downstairs and making a mobster film. My boss even gave us permission
and stated that he's always wanted people to believe he's a mobster.
But we decided that mobster movies are getting kind of cliche. So now
the idea is a film about a group of people attempting to film a mobster
movie. I don't know. I just have to think cheap and semi-short with
good dialogue. Any ideas?

Will- *hugs*

Well, I'm off to figure out just hat in the hell is wrong with my
computer. I've gotten the Blue Screen of Terror three times now since
I've been on. This should be ineresting. I know very little about
advanced machinery.

Cheers,
Erynn

E-mail from Tori Bat:

JaNell~ I *told* you its Oak Ridge! but my giddiness is totally natural.
I drink bottled water. Oh! and what this about "Meeting Tori Bat explains
how you're so patient with me...:D" are _You_ teasing me? JaNell
Dearest~ do you think I'm a little on the over-animated side? we talked
about this... Neil doesn't know! I'm always well behaved around him.
which is odd. I found I really shouldn't drive after seeing Neil.

*skip story if you aren't interested* I tend to bunny-hop around a
lot....

Neil you need one of those warnings: "do not operate heavy machinery for
at least an hour after meeting...." In Lexington, driving back to our
hotel, I almost killed myself and my 2 friends! Norma and I were in the
front being stupid and I wasn't paying attention (obviously) and Jenny is
in the backseat going:
(quietly) redlight (a little louder) Redlight (very loud) REDLIGHT!
--> well my new-ish car has VERY good breaks...hmm luckily nothing bad
happened... Rats~ I guess now I'll never get to drive Neil around!
needless to say its a big joke to ride in the car with me and do that. I
dont think I'll avoid that for a while.

*OK~ anyway--> back to um wherever I was before.*

maybe if I had been invited to that concat dinner in Knoxville, it
wouldn't have been so well how it was. I'm fun~ or at least *I* think so.
Drag Queens like me. and so do little kids. hmm I guess its the glitter.
it appeals to almost anyone. except my friends who are sick of breathing
around me and finding it all over them. I must admit Neil--> I really
dont wear as much as you've seen me in.
ok~ you're all sick of me. bye for now...

Martha - ack. I know that we're doing a Q & A friday, but it's mostly
to get a few things answered from the audience because we're too close
to the material at this point to deal with certain questions. I will
find out from Matt tomorrow exactly when the other Q & A (the one with
the college students) is going to be.

Linda - I don't know if we'll do a formal Q & A on Saturday, but you
can certainly buy me a beer and I'll answer any questions you have. If
Martha wants to come twice (and no, Martha... you don't have to pay to
come see the show.) then you can buy us both drinks and we can answer
your questions. (Martha, like how I just volunteer you for that kind of
thing? The liberties these directors take!)

Michelle - Extremely rich people usually make me nervous... but
fortunately the few I know are pretty cool, so it's all right. Still..
a mansion? Eeek. Hope you can make it to the shooooowwwww!

Erynn - congrats on the potential film project. I like the idea about
lobsters, personally...

Neil - by the time you read this... welcome home. and random
question. Several people have been asking me about this in Wholesale.
The name of the Pest Control Agency... Hare Burke Ketch, or is it Ketch
Hare Burke Ketch, or is it Burke Hare Ketch?
I'm assuming that you do nothing on accident. Why the constant
variations in the name?

Madman - sorry you can't make it with the Barking Mad Players. But be
sure to let me know when you'll be there so we can hang out afterwards.

*perk* Another glitter person, Tori Bat? I almost asked to be the
Saint of Glitter - my husband teases me endlessly about it. I'm rather
chinchilla-ish... instead of a dust bath, I do glitter baths, and the
bathroom is just covered. (Which, really, is convinient. Slam door,
glitter falls, and you're ready to go out!) There have been nights
where I've been banned from bed til I shower, due to the amount of
glitter on me/in my hair.

Perhaps most telling - after two showers and 6 days in the Yosemite
wilderness, we were still finding glitter all over me, him, and our
gear. :-)

Mmm.. speaking of, I'm being dragged off to bed. Night!

Neil: I turned 28 on Friday and realised to my annoyance that I am now
officially no longer the Wiz Kid in my office. Actually, I realised
that a month ago, when I found out Cleo, who was my Fave, was all of 22
and a programming genius. We won't mention Dave the programming genius
who isn't old enough to BUY BEER yet.

However, as a consolation prize, I had the bestest party I've ever had
on Saturday. Because without ever planning it, my party had a band. I
had live Irish music in my home. It was the coolest thing EVER. I sat
on my dining room floor, and watched my friend Andrea play the hammer
dulcimer faster than any human being has a right to without some kind
of bionic limbs being involved. Mary and Debbie and Chris (of Debbie
and Chris and "You are cooler than the Art Institute!" fame) were
there, along with 20 other friends we managed to squeeze into my
not-as-big-as-the-last-digs digs.

Oout of 3 gallons of black bean chilli, I had less than a quart left
over, and people did things like wash bowls and forks and spoons when I
wasn't looking. And Emma's baby slept through the live Irish music and
didn't fuss all night and was alert and happy and the charmer of the
party. But mostly, I just was amazed that I had an hour's worth of
music played in my house, for free, by a band I adore, just 'cause
Waking Maggie thought it would be a great gift.

Yay return of the website. Yay return of the blogger (I've been in
withdrawl. I can only imagine how odd it will be once you stop doing it
entirely. Um... are you going to stop doing it entirely?). Yay for
leather bound journals and not so much yay for wet chainmail, but
that's only 'cause having worked a ren faire for 6 years, chainmail
makes my teeth itch and I want it to go away :) And the QE2 is a nifty
way to cross an ocean (that's how we got to Spain back in 1991). But
yay you for doing the plane thing.

*hugs* to all. I need sleep. Half a pot of tea with dinner was one of
the least intelligent things I have ever, ever done in my whole entire
life.

Happy birthday, Tara! Hope it was fantastic. I figure I can probably
pull of whiz kid status until 26. I just hope I'm published by
then...

Erynn- hugs back.

Tori-bat- that's great to hear about your painting. Isn't it
wonderful a) when you surprise and impress yourself and b) when you
feel those dry, uncreative periods (they're all long, aren't they?)
come to an end? I hope creative lasts a long while, and I hope you
keep impressing yourself.

Mike- Man, if I could bottle 23, I could prolly make *a lot* of money.
I have a feeling it would probably taste like Zima, and smell vaguely
citrusy, and would give the energy boost of that Red Bull stuff (note
to all: never drink Red Bull unless you're planning on *doing*
something. The first time I had it I tried to write and I couldn't
stay seated, and the last time... well, I tried sitting again). But I
was more worried about being an almost-successful, decent-looking,
single young man and living in my parents' basement. I think that
would greatly reduce my shaggability factor.

Neil- <blinks> Two? Wow. I like 23, too, and I guess I'm lucky I
have eight months before I actually hit twenty four. When I was in
college, I meant to be published and moderately, if not very,
successful by now, and my only consolation is that Stephen King didn't
publish Carrie until he was twenty six. Perhaps this will be the
year... <hoping, praying>
Oh, and I have a question for you. You mentioned that American Gods
became the title of AG because that's what you called it, and a similar
thing happened with Neverwhere. Just wondering; if you hadn't already
said something, what would your novels have been called?

Kelly - tapes are made. but this is my fifth show with the troupe, and

Tara - happy birthday. So glad that you had such a fabulous party! I'm
only a wee bit jealous.

Erynn - ah! a double request... um ... er ... maybe I'll drag my own

degree...

You know, I was going to say something, but then I went over to read
the new journal and got caught up in the swirling imagery of Venice and
Trieste, and then looked outside to see the mist that had swirled into
my living/bedroom this morning has followed me to this side of the
Lake, and everything is grey and shrouded and slightly damp...

Oh yes. Happy birthday, Tara - sounds like it was absolutely
wonderful!

I wonder if the laptop would object loudly if I were to go work
